Automation QA Engineer

£40K - £50K - Permanent - London

Responsibilities:

  • Work independently and with team to translate and define business and technical requirements to comprehensive testable scenarios across all environments and platforms.
  • Work closely with developers to understand delivery scope and identify issue from beginning and work together to achieve high quality product.
  • Carry out manual testing using best QA practices to ensure high quality release.
  • Carry out smoke and regression tests manually across all platforms as required.
  • Maintain and carry out debug and execution of existing automated smoke and regression test packs.
  • Increase automated test coverage by evaluating existing manual test cases and automate possible scenarios.
  • Participate and carry out performance testing as required.
  • Maintain constant and smooth communication within a collaborative team’s all level to ensure smooth product delivery.
  • Constantly learn and improve system knowledge and share/transfer knowledge to other team members to increase team productivity.
  • Constantly learn and improve testing and automation skills, combine this with system knowledge to constantly improve QA best practices, effort estimates and test coverage.
  • Actively participate in scrum rituals like daily stand ups, feature/story estimation, sprint planning, retro-specs, go/no-go meetings etc.
  • Actively participate with technology process improvement activities.
  • Carry out periodic exercise to collate data and prepare QA related KPIs for stakeholders.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and work instructions.

Essential Requirements:

  • Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Agile mindset and ability to work in a collaborative team and communicate to all levels.
  • Some experience with Automated Tests (selenium, C#, SpecFlow or other similar scripts/tools), or demonstrable aptitude to learn scripting related to automation.
  • Self-motivated and desire to upskill and learn new technologies to improve process and product quality.
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, analytical, planning and written/verbal communication skills

Desirable Requirements:

  • Commercial experiance with Object-Oriented Programming
  • Experience of performance test using jMeter and/or other similar performance testing tool.
  • Experience with Jira as work management tool.
